Hamilton Bio Conversion Inc.

Hamilton Bio Conversion Inc. operates a Thermo Master™ Plant that employs a patent protected process to convert organic waste materials to valuable animal feed and soil conditioner. Due to the success of their business, a significant plant upgrade project was initiated. The project included:

• a new dryer
• a new dry blending material handling system
• a new pellet making and storage system
• an expansion of the ventilation and odor removal systems
• a new plant automation system

To satisfy the new drying requirements, a major expansion of the process air/ventilation and odour abatement systems was implemented. This included:

• a new stainless steel ductwork system
• new venturi scrubbers and fans
• upgrading of the regenerative thermal oxidizer (RTO)

Dick Engineering Inc. worked closely with Hamilton Bio Conversion’s staff and provided project scope definition, detailed engineering and construction assistance.

Dick Engineering’s involvement also included:

• configuration of plant automation system
• preparation of equipment specifications and procurement
• preparation of operating manuals
• coordination of checkout, commissioning and startup
