Planet Earth Recycling Inc.

Planet Earth Recycling Inc. designs, builds and operates organic recycling plants in North America and, soon, worldwide. As well as providing the engineering for all new plants and plant upgrades, Dick Engineering is providing a turnkey control system (CS) for each plant. DEI worked with PERI’s corporate team to define the control system requirements and select a CS platform.

The selection criteria for the CS platform were:

• worldwide technical support
• robust architecture
• remote monitoring and maintenance capabilities
• effective system reporting and interface mechanisms
• vendor’s long-term commitment to CS platform development

The CS platform selected was Freelance 2000 by ABB Inc. The control system will be connected to DEI’s office via a Virtual Private Network. DEI will be able to provide real time process and maintenance assistance to all plants in a secure setting over the VPN.

DEI worked closely with PERI’s operating staff to define the CS standards and custom software solutions for regulatory and batch control. These solutions were programmed and tested in DEI’s office.
