ERCO Worldwide

ERCO Worldwide is an expert in the design, commissioning and operation of chlorine dioxide processes. Dick Engineering entered into a partnering agreement with ERCO to provide piping design and engineering. This arrangement allowed ERCO to focus on their core business and utlize Dick Engineering’s well-developed piping capabilities.

Dick Engineering’s scope included:

• piping studies
• field studies
• piping orthographics, isometrics and sectional details
• piping support drawings

ERCO’s process has many unique features, including:

• strict process requirements (sloped lines, 5D bends, etc.)
• high density of pipes per unit area
• a wide range of piping materials: titanium, teflon lined carbon steel, FRP, stainless steel, carbon steel
• tight schedules

Building on this relationship, DEI was also retained to work on other activities with ERCO’s engineering group, including:

• HAZOP facilitation
• instrumentation design assistance
• chlorate railcar modeling
