Bio-waste Conversion

Thermo Tech Technologies Inc. own a patented process to convert various types of waste organic food material into valuable animal feed supplements, organic fertilizer concentrates and soil conditioners. The feedstock consists of:

• restaurant food waste
• grocery store waste containing vegetables
• stale bakery products
• soft drinks, beer and soup
• bone and fibrous material
• food products whose shelf life has expired

Dick Engineering assisted Thermo Tech in bringing its existing Hamilton plant up to capacity. Dick Engineering was then commissioned to prepare a Thermo Master Plant™ design to be used as a standard for all new Thermo Tech plants. The Thermo Master Plant™ had many unique features and included the following unit operations:

• pulping
• fermentation
• centrifugation
• evaporation
• drying
• thermal oxidation
